With Jos Lansink, Cumano won the prestigious Grand Prix of Calgary and competed in the Olympic Games of both Athens and Hong Kong. Their most memorable achievement was the gold medal at the 2006 World Equestrian Games in Aachen.
In the historic final four, Cumano and Lansink competed against world-class horses Shutterfly, Authentic and Pialotta, but after a jump-off, the mighty grey and Lansink were crowned world champions.
One year later at the European Championships in Mannheim, Cumano was again in great form and convincingly won the individual silver medal.
Despite a small number of offspring, Cumano produced some fantastic showjumpers. One of his most successful offspring is Noblesse des Tess. Ridden by Saudi’s Kamal Bahamdan, Noblesse des Tess finished in 4th place at the London Olympics, after winning team bronze earlier on in the week.
Another example is Camille Z. This Cumano daughter jumped incredible under the saddle of Greece’s Athina Onassis.
Cumano unfortunately passed away, but his frozen semen is available for ICSI through Jos Lansink Horses. Cumano is one of the legends of showjumping. The impressive stallion is among the best of all time.
